Jacob Gilles is a 6’2 athletic hard hitting linebacker from Tennessee who had 65 tackles last year for his varsity team as a junior which included four sacks, 8 tackles for loss, and two interceptions where he returned one for a touchdown. Jacob recovered 3 fumbles and was selected for All-Region both his Sophomore and Junior years and All-State as a Junior. He leads one of the best defenses in the state of Tennessee holding opponents to under 7 points per game this year. Two year team captain. Gilles is able to cover sideline to sideline on both the pass and the run and has all the tools to succeed at the next level.
Offensively he played as a tight end adding 12 catches on the year with three touchdowns and 107 receiving yards. Gilles runs the 100 & 200 yard dash events in track and has the fifth longest discus throw in school history. He also is a starter on the basketball team since his sophomore year and is a three sport letterman athlete.
