Ike Walker Football Coach/Recruiter
Isaac Walker II was a pivotal defensive back for the great University of Oregon Ducks Championship teams in the 90’s. He was a major part of the “Gang Green” Secondary that competed in three major Bowl Games including the Independence Bowl, the Rose Bowl, and the Cotton Bowl. The Gang Green group helped bring about a cultural shift and pride in the program. He was later honored to be inducted into the Oregon Football Hall of Fame as a member of the 1994 Pac 10 Championship team.
Ike would later receive offers to play in the NFL for free agency and was on rosters in the Arena Football League. But injuries ultimately prevented him from reaching and staying at the professional level. So he found his calling in education and community service starting with teaching in Compton not far from where he grew up in the inner city of Los Angeles. Ike also served as Director of the Sheikh Community Center, working with students, city officials, schools, parents, and community leaders to make Compton a better place for everyone. He’s been married for 25 years and is the proud father of two amazing kids, Isaac III and Caasi.
His work and his purpose has been helping young people grow into the leaders of tomorrow. He has been honored to be part of their journey and to contribute to their growth, success, and future. And he looks forward to helping hundreds more find their path and college future as part of College Sports Prep Football in the coming years.
